Make a note in your diaries, Mother’s Day is 26th March, Easter Sunday is 16th April and spring is just around the corner! Appreciating that you ‘parchers’ like to get ahead of the game I’ve picked for you a selection of cards suitable for each occasion*. There’s also a really strong floral influence in this month’s magazine with a variety of cards featuring colourful flowers and white worked flowers. Evidence of vibrancy and effervescence can be seen in a fantastic painted bouquet by Pat Murphy which sits inside a gorgeous lace work gatefold, but if it’s embossing and fine detailing that you prefer, you’ll enjoy re-creating Marcia Wood-Krentz’s white work flowers on page 8.
As always, there’s a fantastic collection of card designs. They all promote the many techniques within the craft and the patterns can be adapted to suit the ability to which you work at and for the occasion for which they are required. My favourite piece this month can be found on 24 and it is by Julie Roces. I love the attention to detail on the embossed butterflies, the simple perforations in the centre and the stylish border design.
